Denver, CO – Following a highly competitive selection process, Rose Community Foundation has named Sarah Kurz as the organization’s vice president of communications and outreach. Kurz comes to the Foundation from the nonprofit LiveWell Colorado, where she served as both vice president of policy and communications and vice president of operations and strategy. She will start her new role on May 8, 2018.

Prior to joining the executive team at LiveWell and providing leadership for LiveWell’s programs, communications and policy activities, Kurz served as director of strategic marketing for the City and County of Denver, leading marketing and public awareness initiatives to support the programs and services of City agencies. She was previously a principal at the Denver-based communications firm SE2, where she provided strategic communications consulting, planning and execution services as well as public policy guidance to a diverse group of nonprofit, foundation, government and private-sector clients.

Named one of Colorado Biz Magazine’s Top 25 Most Influential Young Professionals in 2010, Kurz is an alumna of the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation’s Impact Denver Class of 2008 and currently serves on the Denver Commission on Cultural Affairs. In 2017, she served on the Executive Committee of the City and County of Denver’s General Obligation Bond Stakeholder Committee. She is a past board member of the New America School and served on the 2016 Denver Public Schools Bond and Mill Community Advisory Committee. She received her Bachelors in Political Science from Duke University.
