Colorado Virtual TPS Project
Colorado is experiencing an unprecedented surge of immigrants from Venezuela and other nations. Rose Community Foundation is at the forefront of the state’s response and is a grantee of the State of Colorado which has received federal funding to aid thousands of new arrivals.
This project unites Rose Community Foundation, Roché Immigration, and Purpose Aligned Consulting to provide swift and efficient support to recently arrived migrants seeking Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and Employment Authorization Documents (EAD) in Colorado.
What is TPS?
The Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security has the authority to designate a country for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) when conditions in that country temporarily prevent its nationals from returning home safely. USCIS may then grant TPS to eligible citizens of specific countries (or portions thereof) who are already in the United States.
What is the the Colorado Virtual TPS Project?
This project assists migrants living in Colorado from eligible countries with obtaining TPS and EAD. Nonprofit partners identify TPS-eligible individuals and collect necessary information, while low-bono attorney-preparers virtually prepare applications. All services are provided free of charge to the client. Thanks to a partnership with USCIS, this is an expedited process for submitting applications and biometrics. How can I help?
If you are an immigration attorney or an accredited Department of Justice representative: we are in need of immigration attorneys to take on TPS and EAD (I-821/765) cases as preparers only, no G-28 needed. You can be located anywhere as everything is completed virtually. The project is offering a low bono rate of $175 per application packet. Who is eligible for this program?
- Citizens of Venezuela who arrived in the U.S. between January 1, 2022, and July 31, 2023 (or other eligible countries – Afghanistan, Burma, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Haiti, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Ukraine, Yemen – with differing dates of eligibility).
- Applicants must currently living in Colorado
- Applicants must be first-time TPS applicants
- Children should also apply for this program.
All services are free, including processing fees.
How do I apply for the program?
If you meet the above eligibility requirements and you have documents that prove that you:
- Are from a TPS-designated country
- Entered the U.S. between 1/1/22 and 7/31/23 for Venezuela (or other eligibility dates specific to other TPS- designated countries)
- Have been living in the U.S. since you entered
