Grantmaking

The Foundation offers multiple funding opportunities for Jewish organizations in the seven-county Greater Denver-Boulder region, aiming to increase the strength and capacity of Jewish community organizations, support programs or projects that offer meaningful and relevant opportunities to engage in Jewish life, and support Jewish efforts seeking to advance social justice by engaging Jewish people and using Jewish values and traditions to respond to social and economic issues of our time. Learn more about our grant cycles.

Jewish Ecosystem Supports

In addition to direct grantmaking to local Jewish organizations, Rose Community Foundation invests in efforts that support the Jewish organizational ecosystem, including:

Strength-to-Strength Initiative

This series of community-wide professional development workshops is designed for senior professional and lay leaders of Jewish nonprofits, offering learning, networking and training to help ensure organizations are strong and sustainable. This program is based on extensive data collective and conversations with local partners who expressed a desire for increased professional development. View upcoming sessions and resources from past workshops.

Leading Partners Colorado

This four-month cohort, launched in partnership with Leading Edge, is exclusively for CEOs and board chairs of our Jewish organizational grantees to engage in masterclasses, relationship building and executive coaching. The program provides participants with the space and tools to create productive and meaningful volunteer-professional partnerships.

Wexner Heritage Program

The Wexner Heritage Program (WHP) is a two-year educational experience that focuses on Jewish learning and leadership training. Twenty Jewish volunteer leaders are chosen from the local community and provided with the opportunity to create strong bonds between other leaders.

Colorado Regional Safety and Security Initiative

As an employee of the Secure Community Network based at JEWISHcolorado, the Regional Security Advisor works with law enforcement partners across the state to ensure the safety and security of the Jewish community; develop best practices for emergency communication, security awareness and training, and disaster response, and secure federal, state and local dollars for security infrastructure needs. Learn more.

Greater Denver Jewish Community Study

Conducted every 10 years, the Community Study is a quantitative portrait of Jewish life in the seven-county Denver region. The study’s results offer insights into the perspectives and needs of increasingly diverse Jewish communities and serves as a valuable data source to inform the strategies and planning of Jewish organizations.

Endowment Building and Inciatives: Momentum Pathway

Endowment Building Pathways are offered to nonprofit organizations that are ready to promote a culture of endowment giving through current or future gifts. The Momentum Pathway provides Jewish organizations who have participated in an endowment building initiative through Rose Community Foundation with incentives to continue their current legacy work. In addition to small, frequent unrestricted incentive grants, organizations have the opportunity to engage in webinars and convenings with other Jewish organizations, receive individual coaching from Rose Community Foundation staff, and participate in in-person trainings through the Endowment Fundamentals Pathway.

Donor Support for Jewish Organizations

Our Philanthropic Services team works closely with the generous individuals, families and businesses that house donor-advised funds with us to help facilitate meaningful philanthropic giving to the Jewish community.

Giving Circles

Through our giving circles, Rose Youth Foundation and Roots & Branches Foundation, we help Jewish teens and young adults put their Jewish values into action and nurture a culture of philanthropy. Jewish women also participate in a values-based giving circle alongside women of different faith traditions in Rose Women’s Circle.
