Gretchen Lenamond joined Rose Community Foundation in August 2017 after nearly 20 years at the Daniels Fund, one of Colorado’s largest private foundations—an organization she first encountered during business school when it was still getting off the ground. That early experience sparked a lasting passion for supporting her community.
As Chief Financial Officer, Gretchen oversees the Foundation’s financial and accounting team, including investments, accounting and compliance, and risk management. As Treasurer of the Foundation, Gretchen works closely with the Board and Committees to ensure the Foundation’s assets are well stewarded and aligned with its mission. In short, she helps keep the numbers accurate, the systems running smoothly, and the Foundation’s fiduciary responsibilities firmly on track.
Before her foundation career, Gretchen spent time in the corporate world as Vice President of the Financial Services Division at Marsh & McLennan, where she built expertise in mergers and acquisitions, corporate securities litigation, and employment practices liability.
With more than 30 years of consulting and foundation experience, Gretchen is deeply committed to supporting nonprofits across the Denver region. She is active in the community and currently serves on the board of the Colorado Student Leaders Institute and is a member of Boys Team Charity. Her past board and Committee service includes Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver and Community Shares of Colorado. She is also a member of the Foundation Administrators Officers Group and the Foundation Tax Group.
A Coloradan for over 25 years (but originally from the East Coast), Gretchen holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the University of New Hampshire and an MBA from the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business. When she’s not working, she and her husband Scott stay busy keeping up with their college bound Irish twins. On weekends, you’ll likely find her skiing in the mountains or enjoying the outdoors with family and friends.
