Gretchen Lenamond

Chief Financial Officer

Gretchen Lenamond joined Rose Community Foundation in August of 2017 after nearly two decades serving as the vice president of finance at the Daniels Fund, one of the largest private foundations in Colorado. Her passion for the nonprofit sector was sparked by working with the Daniels Fund during business school as a start-up foundation. As Chief Financial Officer, Lenamond manages financial and operational departments across the Foundation, including investment portfolio oversight; grantmaking operations, accounting and compliance functions, and human resources. She ensures the Foundation’s operational and fiduciary responsibilities work to support the accuracy and integrity of the organization’s financial records.

Before joining the Daniels Fund, Lenamond served as vice president of the Financial Services Division for Marsh and McLennan, the nation’s oldest and largest insurance brokerage and consulting services firm. While at Marsh and McLennan, she gained recognition as an expert in mergers and acquisitions, corporate securities litigation and employment practices liability.

Lenamond has over three decades of experience in consulting and foundation experience and is committed to supporting nonprofits in the Denver region. An active member of the Denver community, she currently serves on the board of Colorado Student Leaders Institute and is a member of Boys Team Charity. She previously served on the board, nominating committee, and finance and audit committee for Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver. She is also a former board member and treasurer of Community Shares of Colorado. Lenamond is a current member of the Foundation Administrators Officers Group and the Foundation Tax Group.

A Coloradan for more than twenty-five years, Lenamond is originally from the east coast. She holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the University of New Hampshire and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Denver Daniels College of Business. She and her husband Scott are kept busy with the activities of their high-school aged Irish twins. On the weekends, you can find her skiing in the mountains or enjoying the outdoors with family and friends.
