As controller at Rose Community Foundation, Gretchen Lenamond primary responsibility is to direct, coordinate, maintain and control the accuracy and integrity of the Foundation’s financial records.
Prior to joining Rose Community Foundation, Ms. Lenamond spent seventeen years serving as the Vice President of Finance at the Daniels Fund, one of largest private foundations in Colorado. In this role, Ms. Lenamond was responsible for providing direction for the accounting, tax, audit, insurance, budget, compliance, payroll & benefits and treasury functions of the Foundation.
Before joining the Daniels Fund, Ms. Lenamond served as Vice President of the Financial Services Division for Marsh and McLennan, the nation’s oldest and largest insurance brokerage and consulting services firm. While at Marsh and McLennan, she gained recognition as an expert in mergers and acquisitions, corporate securities litigation, and employment practices liability.
In addition to her work at the Foundation, Ms. Lenamond serves on the board of directors, finance committee and nominating committee for Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver. She is a former board member and treasurer of Community Shares of Colorado. She is a member of the Foundation Financial Officers Group (FFOG), the Foundation Tax Group, and volunteers for Homestead Elementary PTCO.
Ms. Lenamond holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of New Hampshire and received a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Denver, Daniels College of Business in 2000.
