Mary Katherine Kerr joined Rose Community Foundation in January 2023. In her role as the Philanthropic Services Associate, she supports the Philanthropic Services team with administrative needs including event planning and coordination, database management and supporting stewardship activities.
Mary Katherine’s passion for helping others started in childhood while volunteering with her mother with hospitalized individuals, hospice patients and at-risk youth in her hometown of Sarasota, FL. After starting her career as a board-certified music therapist, she worked with children in hospice, geriatric patients in the memory unit and students enrolled at Beyond the Spectrum, a school for children with autism spectrum disorder and related diagnoses. Shortly after, she began working at Beyond the Spectrum full-time where she was involved in grassroots fundraising efforts including planning and coordinating their inaugural charity golf tournament, working with No Margin No Mission to launch an ABA Therapy Clinic and the recurring annual Giving Challenge with the Patterson Foundation. After moving to the Denver Metro area, Mary worked in human resources as a recruiter before returning to the non-profit sector with Rose Community Foundation.
Mary Katherine has completed her Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy from the University of Miami and her Master of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin. She will complete her Nonprofit Administration Graduate Certificate from Colorado State University by the end of 2023. In her spare time, she enjoys playing board games and video games with friends, playing music, and reading.
