Celebrating 30 Years of Meeting the Moment

On Wednesday, April 30, Rose Community Foundation leaders and staff—past and present—joined grantees, donors, and community partners to celebrate three decades of values-driven philanthropy in Greater Denver.

Held at Denver’s Mission Ballroom, the event was filled with moments of joy, dancing, and reflection, as founders and grantees shared stories of 30 years of catalytic community impact.

The celebration honored the Foundation’s roots, beginning with the founding of General Rose Memorial Hospital by leaders in Denver’s Jewish community. Named in tribute to General Maurice Rose and his World War II service and sacrifice, the hospital created an inclusive space where Jewish doctors—and Denver’s first Black physician to receive hospital privileges—could practice medicine at a time when discrimination barred them elsewhere. When the hospital was sold in 1995, proceeds established Rose Community Foundation, carrying forward a legacy of inclusion, innovation, and unwavering commitment to community.

In her remarks, Rose Community Foundation President and CEO Lindy Eichenbaum Lent reflected on the momentous occasion—while looking ahead to the work still to be done:

“We find ourselves in a critical moment—in the Greater Denver region and in our country,” said Eichenbaum Lent. “Federal shifts in policy, rhetoric, and funding have the potential to impact how we live, how we learn, and how we are treated under the law. In unprecedented times like these, the strength of our local community—and our commitment to shared values—is a powerful touchstone for how to meet the moment moving forward… whatever that moment may be.”

The celebration also marked the launch of the 30th Anniversary Endowment Campaign—an ambitious effort to raise funds that will sustain and grow Rose Community Foundation’s impact for the next three decades.
