The majority of Jewish people in the Greater Denver area say that being Jewish is important to them but at least 60 percent are not connected to local Jewish institutions.
Rose Community Foundation recognizes that we have special relationship with the Jewish communities throughout the Greater Denver area. We invest in innovative approaches to connect people to Jewish life and to each other and we invest in institutions seeking to innovate and enhance their relevance. We support efforts to identify and serve emerging Jewish needs. We mobilize resources to bring Jewish communities together and support leadership development. We strengthen institutions seeking to become more sophisticated, relevant and sustainable. We invest in efforts to welcome and connect Jewish people and others in their households to Jewish life and to promote Jewish growth and learning in our community today and for generations to come.
As part of our strategic grantmaking, we have used our leadership to bring parts of the Jewish community together to encourage innovation, enhance organizational effectiveness and increase Jewish connections and engagement. The following projects and initiatives reflect this leadership:
- Standards of Excellence for Jewish Community Centers and Synagogues with Early Childhood Education Centers
- Colorado Jewish Early Childhood Education Initiative Progress Report 2008 – 2012
- Live On: Build Your Jewish Legacy
- Roots & Branches Foundation
- Rose Youth Foundation
- Jewish Teen Education and Engagement Initiative
