For Ron and Naomi Montoya, philanthropy is a big part of who they are. “It has just been our way of life since we’ve been married, to be involved in organizations and do whatever we can in the community” says Ron Montoya.
William (“Dr.Bill”) Silvers, MD, encourages his patients to live life to the fullest. “Asthma should not hold anyone back from aspiring to be an Olympian,” he affirms. A dedicated board-certified allergist for 37 years, Dr. Silvers started the donor-advised Allergy and Asthma Health Fund at Rose Community Foundation to create a legacy focused on medicine and Jewish values.
Margery Goldman loved many things about her husband Marvin Naiman, a successful real estate developer and investor who died in 2005. So in 2011, she established a donor-advised fund at Rose Community Foundation called the Papa Marv Fund to honor the name Marvin was called by his grandkids.
Beverly Buck is a trustee of The Aloha Foundation, a family foundation focusing on early childhood education and development in Colorado, New York and Hawai‘i. She is a donor, aligned funder and a longtime friend of Rose Community Foundation.
“I hope my children feel the joy of giving, not just a sense of obligation because it’s the right thing to do. It should always feel good to help,” says Rose Community Foundation donor Lezlie Goldberg.
The Living Legacy Tapestry, created in 2012, recognizes and honors the Foundation’s legacy donors, individuals who have included Rose Community Foundation in their estate plans. The Tapestry is an artistic archive of the values and experiences that have informed their philanthropy and dedication to community.
