Health Care and Colorado Business: New Report Details High Cost of Doing Nothing

Denver, CO - Rose Community Foundation provided funding for the recent publication titled Health Care and Business: The Bottom Line, produced by the Colorado Business Group on Health. This publication quantifies the impact of rising health care costs on Colorado businesses. The findings show that the average health insurance costs per employee rose 62% between 1999 and 2005. As costs rise, the percentage of insured workers declines and the cost of covering the uninsured affects the cost of coverage for those who are insured. Businesses are encouraged to join efforts to seek affordable health solutions.

Copies of the publication can be downloaded by going to bizhealthforum.org or coloradohealthonline.org. Hard copies may be ordered by contacting Kristen Berg at the Colorado Business Group on Health, kristen.berg@cbghealth.org.

Rose Community Foundation supports efforts to improve the quality of life throughout the Greater Denver community through its endowed grantmaking programs, and by advising and assisting donors who wish to make thoughtful charitable investments to better the community. The Foundation has granted nearly $135 million since it was founded in 1995. For more information, visit rcfdenver.org.
