Grant Guidelines

The Latino Community Foundation of Colorado (LCFC) is offering a new funding opportunity in Colorado, created through an innovative partnership with the LCFC and Hispanics in Philanthropy (HIP). The LCFC’s investment in its community is being matched by HIP, a national membership network of funders committed to making positive change in Latino communities in the U.S. and in Latin America through philanthropic investment and participation.

Our current grantmaking focus is on capacity building in order to strengthen and build Latino nonprofits and leadership. Grants will be made to 501(c)(3) organizations:

  • with annual operating budgets under $2 million dollars

  • operating in and serving individuals that live in Colorado

  • that are Latino-led, which means they must meet at least one criterion under “leadership” and at least one criterion under “mission” below:

Mission

A majority of board members are Latino.

A majority of the people directly served by the agency are Latino.

A majority of the agency’s senior management are Latino.

The mission statement specifically targets Latinos/Hispanics or a Latino subgroup(s)

The agency’s executive director is Latino.

 

Grants will be made for:

  • capacity-building only (how will a grant increase your effectiveness and ability to serve your constituents?)

  • two years (for a more sustained effort)

  • up to $15,000 over the two years
