Rose Community Foundation Announces New Committee Chair Appointment

Denver, CO – Rose Community Foundation’s Board of Trustees has announced the appointment of Judy Altenberg as Jewish Life Committee chair effective July 21, 2014. The Foundation’s community volunteers provide guidance and expertise to support the Foundation’s mission, programs and policies.

Judy Altenberg was appointed to serve as chair of the Jewish Life Committee. A Rose Community Foundation Trustee and Education Committee member, Ms. Altenberg began her service on the Jewish Life Committee in 2007.

Trained as an attorney, Ms. Altenberg has held volunteer positions in several local and nonprofit organizations. She is the past chair of the Jewish Women’s Philanthropy Center of JEWISHcolorado. She is also a vice chair of National Women’s Philanthropy of the Jewish Federations of North America and co-chair of the International Lion of Judah Conference. She is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Jewish Federations of North America. She is the current chair of the Cherry Creek Schools Foundation board and former appointee to the Colorado Commission on Higher Education.

She has chaired several fundraising divisions within JEWISHcolorado, and is an alumna of the United Jewish Communities’ National Young Leadership Cabinet. She is a 2010 graduate of the Wexner Heritage Program, an intensive two-year program of Jewish leadership and learning.
