Carlos Martinez has been named executive director of the Latino Community Foundation of Colorado (LCFC), an initiative of Rose Community Foundation. In this position, Martinez directs the LCFC’s efforts to expand giving by Latinos, support nonprofit organizations serving the Latino community in Colorado and oversee special projects that allow Latinos to reach their full potential. The LCFC was formed in 2007 by Rose Community Foundation in association with Hispanics in Philanthropy. Since it was founded, the LCFC has granted more than $1 million.

“I am excited about the Latino Community Foundation of Colorado’s new direction and its next phase of opportunity and am committed to taking it to the next level in being a key player in the Latino community,” says Carlos Martinez.

Martinez has worked in the nonprofit sector for nearly 25 years. Before joining Rose Community Foundation, he was CEO of the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Community Center of Colorado (The Center) for more than five years. He also served on the Latino Community Foundation of Colorado board and Rose Community Foundation’s Committee on Aging. He currently serves on the board of the Foothills Art Center and is a member of the Wells Fargo Community Advisory Board. Martinez completed graduate coursework and earned a bachelor’s degree from California State University, Dominguez Hills.
